Most women's breasts change over time. Weight variations, repeated pregnancies and breast-feeding diminish skin quality and breast volume. The breast then becomes ptosis, and a breast lift may be necessary. Breast ptosis may be present from the outset, or occur after significant weight loss, pregnancy or breast-feeding. It may also be associated with breast hypertrophy. Conversely, ptosis can occur in the context of breasts that are too small (congenital breast hypoplasia or hypotrophy) or after significant weight loss. In these cases, correction may include the addition of prostheses.<\/p>\n

Objective of Mastopexy surgery:<\/span><\/h2>\n

A breast lift treats breast ptosis by reshaping and lifting the mammary gland. The cure of breast ptosis will restore a harmonious shape to the breasts, but will create scars - scarring. The aim of surgery is to reposition the areola and nipple, and to reshape and lift the mammary gland to fill the upper part of the breast. This remodelling redistributes volumes, making the breasts more harmonious. Surgery generally creates a T-shaped or anchor-shaped scar.<\/p>\n

Scars:<\/span><\/h3>\n

\nThey differ according to the degree of breast ptosis, as the size of the scars depends directly on the degree of breast ptosis;
\nA breast lift can be performed in three different ways.
\n-Inverted T for major ptosis, this technique allows the gland to be raised by more than 10 cm.
\nA vertical scar under the nipple combined with a peri-areolar scar for moderate ptosis
\n-A periareolar scar for minor ptosis. This technique is most often combined with a breast augmentation<\/a> by prosthesis.<\/p>\n

Breast lift surgery lasts an average of 2 hours, but varies according to the mastopexy technique used.<\/p>\n
