What factors influence skin ageing?<\/p>\n

Factors specific to each individual :
\n-Genetics: This is the natural process determined by genes.
\n-Hormonal: A drop in hormones during menopause or andropause reduces sebaceous gland activity.
\n-Muscular ageing: This is the ageing caused by the activity of the skin muscles, leading to fractures in the dermis.<\/p>\n

External factors :<\/p>\n

UV (ultraviolet radiation): This is actinic aging, caused by solar radiation. Exposure to the sun causes helioderma.
\nTobacco: Tobacco significantly accentuates the expression of helioderma. It would appear that there is a purely tobacco-induced elastosis. In addition, smoking-induced alterations in microcirculation may accentuate age-related changes.
\nClimatic aggression: Cold, wind and temperature variations damage capillaries.<\/p>\n

\nHormonal treatments such as DHEA can be useful during the menopause.
