The appearance of jowls is one of the signs of aging.<\/p>\n

Medical treatment of jowls:<\/h3>\n

Injections ofhyaluronic acid<\/a>\u00a0fill in the hollows on either side of the jowls to harmonize the oval of the face. This treatment is only possible if the jowls are minor to moderate in shape.
\nInjections make it possible to postpone surgical facelifts thanks to medical facelifts, provided that the sagging is slight.<\/p>\n

Surgical treatment of jowls:<\/h3>\n

Visit\u00a0cervico-facial lift<\/a>\u00a0is indicated when it is necessary to reshape the oval of the face, remodel the cervico-facial angle and lift the jowls.<\/p>\n

Sagging facial contours are one of the first consequences of skin aging. In some patients, this sagging can be associated with and amplified by the presence of fatty pockets localized in the jowls,<\/p>\n

Jowls can appear with age, due to sagging skin and the pull of the earth. The result is a ptosis of the skin on either side of the mandible (lower jaw).<\/p>\n

As we age, the oval of the face loses definition due to reduced skin hydration (losing elasticity) and ptosis (\"drooping\") of the tissues, which are more affected by gravity.<\/p>\n

The presence of localized fatty deposits is a contributing factor to oval sagging.<\/p>\n

When pronounced, jowls give the face a tired, aged look.<\/p>\n

Jowls are the more or less pendulous areas on either side of the chin that appear with age.<\/p>\n

The face will then lose its oval shape and take on a tired appearance.<\/p>\n

Erasing these jowls will restore the oval of the face, giving it a younger, more dynamic look.<\/p>\n

Several solutions exist (fillers, tensor threads and the cervico-facial lift for long-lasting action).<\/p>\n

The cervico-facial lift will not only restore the jowls to their correct position, thus recreating a harmonious oval of the face, but also reduce skin and muscle loss in the face and neck.<\/p>\n

The indication can be clearly established clinically (anatomically) at your first consultation: on a seated or standing patient, pulling upwards and backwards on the skin of the neck and cheek (using thumb and forefinger) should result in a clear aesthetic improvement on the stigmata of aging. This manoeuvre also gives a good idea of the result expected after the operation.<\/p>\n

The advantage is that other age-related problems, such as loss of the cervico-chinnel angle, platysmal cords and melting of facial fat, can be treated in a single operation.<\/p>\n

The aim of the cervico-facial lift is to give the face a fresh, rested appearance without freezing the features, with a natural result and avoiding the \"operated\" look that patients always dread.<\/p>\n

A cervico-facial lift can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia aided by light sedation (neuroleptanalgesia). It lasts from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the case.<\/p>\n

The patient is discharged from the clinic the following day or, in some cases, the same evening. Scars are hidden in the hair, inside the ear and behind the ear. They are therefore discreet.<\/p>\n

It's important to know that the full cervico-facial lift brings with it muscle re-tensioning (SMAS) to restore the full architecture of the face.<\/p>\n

Lipofilling can be combined to restore facial volumes. The skin is always \"re-draped\" in a natural way, without excessive tension, to ensure a natural effect.<\/p>\n

Post-operative recovery generally involves a period of 10 to 15 days of social withdrawal, but the result is long-lasting, lasting up to ten years. Another facelift is always possible afterwards.<\/p>\n

The ultimate goal of the cervico-facial lift is to give the face a firmer contour and a fresher appearance. After surgery, you may experience temporary changes in skin color (due to bruising and swelling), a pulling sensation or anesthesia of the face and neck.<\/p>\n

Healing is gradual, so expect to wait several weeks or even months before achieving the best results for good.<\/p>\n
