BRAVA: Fat transfer in the breast
What is BRAVA?
BRAVA enables breast volume to be increased using negative pressure.
This temporarily increases breast volume to facilitate fat transfer.
Increasing the volume and vascularity of the breast means that a greater quantity of fat can be injected, making it easier for the graft to take hold.
This reduces the number of procedures required to obtain the desired volume.
When to use BRAVA
For aesthetic breast augmentation:
The patient wears the BRAVA to prepare the breast for adipocyte grafting. A patient with a very small breast volume cannot benefit from a large fat transfer. The injected fat must not be compressed if it is to survive; it needs a well-vascularized space, and this is the objective of BRAVA. Below is a natural breast augmentation thanks to BRAVA.

For breast reconstruction after mastectomy:
The patient wears the BRAVA to create a space conducive to fat transfer. BRAVA reduces the number of sessions required to reconstruct a breast. Without BRAVA, a breast reconstruction by fat transfer requires an average of 6 lipofilling sessions, with BRAVA the number of procedures is reduced to 3.
First procedure:
A) Before BRAVA, skin thickness is low; without BRAVA, the first lipofilling session will inject only a small amount of fat.
B) BRAVA distends the skin and improves vascularization.
C) Fat transfer is greater because the breast has been prepared by the BRAVA.
Breast reconstruction begins slowly.
Second procedure:
A) The volume is already greater than during the first procedure.
B) Second BRAVA procedure
C) Fat injection to gradually reconstruct a natural breast.
Note that the sensations of the new breast are very good.
The procedure:
Patients who decide to undergo a BRAVA "procedure" must wear the device eleven hours a day for four weeks. In addition, for the last 3 to 5 days before fat transfer, the patient must wear it 24 hours a day. After fat transfer, the patient wears the BRAVA only for 24 hours.
