We've provided you with some photos of body contouring surgery. The purpose of showing you these photographs is to make you aware of the limitations of certain procedures.
Liposuction:
Liposuction leaves virtually no scars, but only acts on fat and has no effect on the skin. The best areas for liposuction are the abdomen, flanks, saddlebags, inner thighs and knees. It is also possible to reinject fat from the buttocks or breasts. If a patient's skin is too loose, the skin will not tighten postoperatively. To find out more about liposuction.
Abdominoplasty:
Abdominoplasty is often performed when the abdominal skin has been damaged by pregnancy or after major weight loss. Abdominoplasty does not make you lose weight, but it does treat the after-effects of weight loss. In some cases, Dr. David may ask you to lose weight before the operation, to optimize the result. The downside of this procedure is scarring: despite the care taken by the surgeon during closure, there is always a degree of uncertainty as to the quality of healing.
Brachial lift:
A brachial lift removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms. Results are generally very good, at the cost of a scar on the inner arms.
Crural lift:
The aim of a thigh lift is to treat sagging of the inner thighs, and two techniques are available:
The horizontal technique allows treatment of the upper thigh, leaving only a horizontal scar.
The vertical technique treats sagging of the entire thigh at the cost of a longitudinal scar.
