Buttock augmentation

Gluteal hypoplasia is a condition in which the volume of the buttocks is insufficient for the patient's morphology. It may be constitutional (flat buttocks since puberty) or secondary to significant weight loss (or trauma).

Aesthetic enhancement of the gluteal region is a growing demand among patients. Conventional gluteal augmentation techniques use prostheses, with interesting results despite a non-negligible risk of potential complications. Fat transfer, which is becoming increasingly popular, particularly for breast augmentation, is an interesting alternative for buttock augmentation. Combined with lipo-aspiration of excess fatty areas (saddlebags, inner knees, posterior thighs, lower back), buttock lipofilling enables the contours of the figure to be redefined.

Possible techniques
for buttock augmentation

The aim of the procedure is to increase the shape of the buttocks.
Four techniques:

Buttock augmentation by lipofilling "fat transfer":

- Removal and preparation of fat using the Coleman technique in the areas surrounding the buttock to reshape it: Area in blue on the photo
- Soft cannula fat reinjection in the "orange zone" buttocks

Lipo-aspiration is now a classic technique in plastic surgery. In the context of buttock reshaping, it enables the contours of the silhouette to be redefined. In fact, localized gluteal lipofilling is only optimal if combined with extensive liposuction. It is therefore a mixed technique of gluteal liposculpture.
Prostheses enable a marked and more visible augmentation of the buttocks, and are suitable for patients who want a radical transformation of their silhouette. It is also indicated for patients with a low fat reserve that cannot be used to obtain sufficient gluteal projection.
Aesthetic buttock liposculpture or aesthetic buttock remodeling, in the right indications, improves the redistribution of fat volumes in the gluteal region. The result is a moderate but completely natural increase in buttock volume and curvature, with no foreign bodies and without the appearance of an artificial buttock.

Buttock augmentation with EMSCULPT:

Pain-free, surgery-free buttock enhancement with new EMSCULPT technology: electromagnetic waves deliver 20,000 contractions per 30-minute session. This technology is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and has been the subject of numerous scientific studies.

2 sessions of emsculpt over two weeks are required to achieve results. Results are fully visible after 15 days.

Buttock augmentation with Macrolane:

Important Macrolane has been withdrawn from the market

- Injectable hyaluronic acid with cannula
- Slow resorption, injection to be repeated every year or 2 years

Buttock Augmentation with Prostheses:

It's important to understand that a simple prosthesis can't make every buttock more beautiful, and that the choice of treatment (or abstention from treatment) must be adapted to the initial shape of the buttock. For example, there's no point in fitting an intramuscular prosthesis (which will augment the upper and middle thirds) if the lower third of the buttock is particularly flat, as this will produce an unnatural result.

Anaesthesia :

Buttock augmentation surgery requires general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia

Duration of intervention :

Buttock augmentation surgery can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Operative sequences :

- One day's hospitalization in most cases.
- Wear a compression girdle or lipopanty for 1 month.
- Visible results after 2 to 3 months.
