Medical rhinoplasty in Nice

The shape of the nose is an essential element of the face, and even the smallest detail can break the natural harmony of the nose and, consequently, of the face.

Medical rhinoplasty is a non-surgical technique for modifying the shape of the nose by injecting a filler. It is an alternative way of harmonizing certain minor imperfections of the nose.

The product injected is either hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite "radiesse".

What areas of the face are treated with Hyaluronic Acid?

  • The bump

An injection on either side of the bump to mask it

  • The tip of the nose

An injection at the base of the nose, above the upper lip, opens the nasolabial angle by an internal thrust, which raises the tip of the nose.

  • The snub nose

Fills a hollow on the dorsum of the nose

How are Hyaluronic Acid injections performed?

No anesthesia or contact anesthesia (EMLA)

Session duration 15 to 30 minutes
Immediate return to social activity

How long do the results last?

The effects are immediate
After 12 to 24 months, the effects of the filler gradually diminish (depending on the product used).

Botox treatment for bunny lines:

They appear on the lateral surface of the nasal root and radiate downwards. They are to be distinguished from transverse wrinkles caused by contraction of the procerus. They are analyzed pre-procedurally and are generally treated at the same time as the glabellar complex.

Injection techniques

Injections can be a single median, or two laterals, or a combination of one median and two laterals. Injections should be relatively superficial.

The total dose is between 2 and 5 U. One unit per site is generally sufficient. Men rarely benefit from treatment, unlike women.

Results and touch-ups

Treatment of bunny lines is generally integrated into the treatment of the glabellar complex. Sessions are generally performed every 3 months. The treatment appears to be less effective in patients who have undergone rhinoplasty.

The nose doesn't make a face beautiful, but it can make it unsightly if its proportions are inappropriate. We don't dream of a beautiful nose, we only wish it didn't attract the eye, that it went unnoticed.

Centrally located in the face, the nose attracts attention, particularly for its flaws, which are impossible to camouflage.

It can even become a hindrance to social relations. It's all we ever see," say people who suffer from the appearance of their noses.

Whether it's a "family nose" or a damaged nose, rhinoplasty is one of the most common aesthetic procedures for both men and women.

Aesthetic rhinoplasty modifies the appearance of the nose, while functional rhinoplasty, which is sometimes associated with aesthetic rhinoplasty, corrects nasal breathing disorders.

The procedure allows us to sculpt the nose by correcting birth defects, those that appear during adolescence or after trauma.

Rhinoplasty can be total or partial, correcting only the tip for example.

Rhinoplasty at what age?

This surgery can be performed from the end of growth, i.e. from around age 15. There is no upper age limit.

Two different approaches;

The surgeon will adopt one of the following techniques:

- Open rhinoplasty involves making a small incision at the base of the columella, the band of tissue between the nostrils. A scar, barely visible to the naked eye, usually appears when this area is healed. The advantage of this approach is better control over the reshaping of the cartilage at the tip of the nose.

  • Closed rhinoplasty, also known as endonasal rhinoplasty, involves making incisions through the inside of the nose. This technique generally leaves no external scars, and requires a shorter recovery period than the open technique.

Can rhinoplasty correct a deviated septum?

Yes, those who suffer from sinus or breathing problems often experience significant relief after nose surgery. Although not specifically designed to correct a deviated septum as is septoplasty, rhinoplasty can provide the same effect.

After surgery, your nose will be sensitive. In most cases, the nose will swell and hematomas may appear. Swelling and hematomas are normal consequences of this surgery and nothing to worry about.

The effects of nose surgery appear gradually as swelling disappears and the nose adapts to its new shape. After four to six months, the contours of your nose will refine and the beauty of your new nose will be revealed. Surgical rhinoplasty is permanent.

And in humans?

The male nose has specific characteristics that make rhinoplasty for men a special procedure.

The characteristics of the male nose must be understood within the general anatomy of the face, with the need to respect harmony with the more massive bony skeleton, in particular the more prominent superciliary arches and stronger mandible than in women.

The aesthetic canons of the male nose are based on general criteria. A man's nose is rarely turned up, and the naso-labial angle must be closed, otherwise the profile will be transformed, with an undesirable feminization. Similarly, while the male nasal bridge is ideally straight, it cannot be hollowed out, but can in some cases retain a convex appearance without the need to remove any hump.

What about medical rhinoplasty?

Medical rhinoplasty involves reshaping the nose without surgery.

She uses hyaluronic acid injections.

However, medical rhinoplasty is not a substitute for surgical rhinoplasty.

It is a delicate procedure, requiring a good understanding of the indications, which remain limited.

A small bump, for example, can be rectified by injecting the product upstream and downstream of the bump to restore a smoother profile line or correct a slightly crooked nose.

To achieve this, we use a very dense hyaluronic acid, which the surgeon injects into both the bony and cartilaginous parts of the nose.

The technique is also very useful for correcting certain imperfections of the tip, such as asymmetry of the wing cartilages or divergence (tip splitting in two) or lack of projection of the tip (nose too short), or a tip that is too pinched, etc.". The injections are not very painful, with the exception of the tip, which is a little more sensitive.

An anesthetic cream can be applied 30 minutes before the procedure to make it more comfortable.

Rhinoplasty: aesthetic nose surgery

rhinoplastie nice

DOCTOR DAVID ONLY PERFORMS MEDICAL RHINOPLASTY

Rhinoplasty is cosmetic surgery of the nose to modify its shape and size. Rhinoplasty surgery is a complex procedure, and is considered the most frequently requested operation in facial plastic surgery.
A distinction is made between functional rhinoplasty or septoplasty, to straighten the nasal septum, and corrective rhinoplasty, to modify the morphology of the nose. If required, a single operation can combine the two, resolving breathing difficulties while bringing symmetry and harmony to the face.
Rhinoplasty corrects disharmony between the nose and the rest of the face, restoring aesthetic balance. Any respiratory problems will be treated in the same "rhinoseptoplasty" operation.

The anatomy of the nose

The bone and cartilage structure of the nose is complex.
The upper part of the nose is formed by the clean bones of the nose (you can see the clean bones in brown at the top of the nose on the diagram).
The middle third of the nose is formed by the quadrangular "septum" cartilage and the triangular cartilages (the triangular cartilage is the gray, triangular-shaped cartilage in the middle third).

The lower third of the nose is formed by the quadrangular "septum" cartilage and the alar cartilages (the alar cartilage is grey and comma-shaped in this diagram, and is very important in defining the tip of the nose).

Hump reduction rhinoplasty

There are different rhinoplasty techniques, depending on the anomalies to be corrected.
Bump reduction rhinoplasty:
It consists in reducing the osteocartilaginous hump by reducing the cartilaginous septum and the clean bones of the nose. rhinoplastie cannes
In most cases, it is combined with lateral osteotomies.
We can also perform a wing cartilage reduction to reduce the globular appearance of the tip and a functional rhinoplasty.
This type of rhinoplasty is preferably performed via a closed approach.

Rhinoplasty of the tip

Peak rhinoplasty is generally performed openly, as it provides a perfect view of the cartilage structure. rhinoplastie alpes maritimes
This technique can be used to correct tip asymmetry, modify the appearance of the tip (globular-fine) and change its orientation (drooping tip).

To achieve this, the surgeon can perform sutures between the different parts of the wing or triangular cartilage. Cartilage grafting may be required (spreader-graft, columellar graft, tip graft).

Septoplasty

Septoplasty is used to treat a deviated septum. It is indicated in cases of respiratory discomfort caused by a deviated septum (if the respiratory discomfort is always on the same side, it is probably a septal deviation; if the respiratory discomfort is tilted, it is probably a hypertrophy of the inferior turbinate).
On the other hand, in the case of nasal deviation, septoplasty is indicated to straighten the nose and correct the deviation.

Objective:

Correct the shape of the nose and any functional discomfort.
To achieve this, it is necessary to establish objectives with your surgeon, using digital photos modified on the computer.
The main applications are the treatment of osteo-cartilaginous humps and the tip and base of the nose.

Anaesthesia :

Rhinoplasty surgery requires general anesthesia.

Duration of intervention :

Rhinoplasty surgery lasts 1 hour 30 minutes.

Incision:

Rhinoplasty surgery leaves no visible scar in the closed approach, or a small scar at the elbow in the open approach.

Operative sequences :

-An average of one day in hospital.

-Splints for 8 days.

-Ecchymosis may occur around the eyes for 10 to 15 days.

-Definitive result acquired after 6 to 12 months.

It should be pointed out, for example, that the thickness of the skin plays a considerable role in the final result of the operation.

It is important to take advice and find out about the surgeon's qualifications before starting the preparatory steps for the operation.

Covered by Social Security :

No for aesthetic rhinoplasties. Coverage possible if history of nasal fracture (proven by X-ray).
