A young face is a full, round face.
For some people, the temples deepen over the years, a clear sign of ageing that patients find difficult to identify. However, filling the temples with hyaluronic acid harmonizes and therefore considerably rejuvenates the face.
Temporal fat melts with age, causing the tail of the eyebrow to droop and giving a sad face.
In addition, these hollow temples give what is known in our jargon as the skeletonization of the face, giving an impression of facial hardness.
The temporal hollowing, often not authenticated by patients, is a sign of aging that saddens and ages the face.
Treatment of the temples involves the injection of hyaluronic acid either superficially with a cannula or deeply with a needle.
The injection can be superficial if the skin is thick enough and the veins not very visible. In this case, the injected product is moderately cross-linked and placed subcutaneously above the superficial temporal fascia.
If the dermis is thin, the veins too visible or the hollow too large, the injection will be deeper. The product will be highly reticulated and placed in the temporal muscle, below the deep temporal fascia.
Injection requires a lot of product, one or one-and-a-half syringes per side.
Apart from oedema and haematomas, which are rare, for two or three days a sensation of pressure in the injected area and discomfort when chewing are common if the product is injected deep into the skin. If the injection is superficial, surface irregularities are to be expected, and the patient is advised to massage the area morning and evening for around ten days, until the result has stabilized.
Injecting hyaluronic acid into the temples restores the curves and volumes of the face, eliminating the temporal hollow and shadow. Not to mention the rejuvenation and opening of the eyes, as well as the lifting of the tail of the eyebrow.
Hyaluronic acid injections in the temples last for a long time, as this is not an area subject to movements other than chewing. The lifespan is in the order of 1 year to 18 months.
The treatment is painless and does not require any interruption of social life, thanks to the anaesthetic integrated into the hyaluronic acid and the use of flexible micro-injection cannulas with round tips that do not traumatize the tissues.
The result of hyaluronic acid injections in the temples is much more rejuvenating than one might imagine before treatment, as it harmonizes the face.
With the disappearance of temporal fat, the temples are emptied, also contributing to the fall in the tail of the eyebrow, and thus to the aging of the eyes.
In the case of eye rejuvenation, fine lines around the eye (crow's feet wrinkles) can be corrected with botulinum toxin injections.
The eyebrows modify the expression of the gaze, expressing fatigue, anger, surprise and sadness.
The tail of the eyebrow lies on an imaginary line starting at the wing of the nose and passing through the outer canthus of the eye (outer corner of the eye), and should be slightly higher than the head.
Botulinum toxin injections have been used in aesthetic medicine for over a decade.
No anesthesia is required.
Slight redness or swelling may appear in the treated areas for a few minutes, rarely more than half an hour. You can resume your daily activities immediately after the procedure, but should avoid any strenuous physical exertion.
The result of the injection is visible between the 3rd and 5th day, and the full result after 2 weeks.
You now know that the combined treatment of fillers and botox injections gives a real rejuvenating effect, with the eyes opening up and the temples protruding and convex as in a young subject.
Over time, the skin, fat and muscle of the temporal region can atrophy. This area of the face can be filled with hyaluronic acid.
Hayluronic acid injections are performed in the doctor's office during a consultation, under rigorous aseptic conditions. Results are immediate, and last 1 year on average.
