Breast Augmentation Video

Plastic surgery has a proven track record in treating hypotrophic breasts with breast augmentation surgery.

Breast augmentation aims to increase breast size using breast prostheses. In rare cases (tuberous breasts, asymmetry, malformation), however, the procedure may be fully covered by social security, as it is reconstructive surgery.

The average lifespan of an implant is 15 years.

Implants can be placed either axillary (armpit), hemiareolar or under the breast.

The implant site can be either behind the pectoralis major muscle or retroglandular (to the mammary gland). It is also possible to place the prosthesis in a semirectoral position using the Dual plane technique, which offers the advantages of the two previous techniques. In effect, the breast implant is hidden by the pectoralis major muscle at the top, but is only covered by the mammary gland at the top, for a more natural appearance.

This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic and lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Hospitalization lasts from 12 to 24 hours.

Post-operative swelling lasts about a month, and the almost definitive shape of the breast appears after 3 months.
